How will it work?
Find the right training
The Skills Academy will organise employer-endorsed training and development so that it is easy to understand what it covers. This means employers and IT professionals will be able to use the course finder to find the type of development that best suits them. This will include e-learning, short courses delivered face-to-face, on-the-job development and in-depth professional qualifications.
Join a learning community
The Skills Academy will not deliver training directly. It will license a network of delivery partners who will provide learning and qualifications that have been endorsed by employers.
The network will include private providers, universities, colleges and employers who want to have their learning endorsed by employers and given the Skills Academy seal of approval.
Make training count
Through the Skills Academy, IT professionals will be able to articulate their competencies in a way that employers can easily understand. IT managers will use this to understand what development their teams need, and to recruit more confidently. Individuals will be able to work out the best learning and development to develop their careers.
