Our vision

The National Skills Academy for IT will drive the UK’s ambition to be a global leader in delivering business value from technology.

Employers across the UK are joining forces through the Skills Academy to ensure that they have a better skilled, more versatile IT professional workforce. This will give them a competitive advantage, improve productivity and make them more resilient to changing market conditions.

Raising productivity

The Skills Academy will accelerate the productivity of new IT recruits by giving them instant access to high quality, industry-supported learning and development.

It will transform the sector’s ability to address its higher level skills needs by highlighting existing quality learning and creating new learning and development where it is needed. It will also give both new and experienced IT professionals the chance to have their learning accredited to internationally recognised standards.

Everyone wins

The Skills Academy will enable employers of all sizes to take advantage of a more highly skilled IT professional workforce. For IT professionals, it will increase their value to employers and open up new career opportunities. Education and training providers will benefit from the growth in the market for IT professional development.

And the UK will have the technical, business and leadership skills it needs to maximize the value of technology.

Find out what the Skills Academy can do for you when it opens for business in Autumn 2010.

We look forward to participating in the proposed National Skills Academy for IT - promoting the learning it offers and making it available to all our IT professionals, particularly the variety of delivery styles designed to suit individual preference.
