Aviva chief joins the National Skills Academy for IT

Alex Robinson, former Chief Information Officer at Aviva, has taken over as interim Chief Executive of the National Skills Academy for IT. Robinson will steer the Skills Academy through its crucial first few months.

In 2006, Alex became a member of the e-skills CIO Board and helped develop the business plan for the National Skills Academy for IT. When he joined e-skills he was CIO of Aviva and then left in April 2009. Previous to this he was CIO of Aviva Europe, Norwich Union and the RAC.

“I’ve been an IT professional for almost all my working life and I completely understand the value of good training", says Alex. “There are many excellent training providers across the UK and, as interim Chief Executive of the National Skills Academy for IT, I am looking forward to working with them as well as educational institutions and employers to recognise and build professionalism in the IT workforce.”
