Peter is based in the South East with teams in National Grid’s offices in Berkshire, Warwickshire, New York, Syracuse and Boston.

In 1999, Peter began his IS career at National Grid in Network Operations as a Project Manager and Business Analyst where he successfully managed software development projects to deliver new energy trading capability to support the needs of the balancing mechanism and settlement systems for services such as reserve, response, voltage control and black start.

Peter then moved to take a role as Strategic Planning Manager in the Information Services group in National Grid followed by a successful role as a programme manager where he was responsible for delivering integration savings of £42M from the National Grid/Transco Merger in the first full year of operations.

His next challenge was to develop and negotiate the commercial agreements for IS services and exit provisions with IDNs following the successful sale of 4 of the 8 Gas Distribution businesses acquired through the Transco Merger

After 5 years in IS, Peter moved to Corporate Strategy where he spent two years managing the development of a multi functional Shared Services Business. He was responsible for designing and integrating the high level operating model, the high level organisation design and service, governance and regulatory frameworks.

All the above challenges had prepared Peter for the current role which he began in 2006 as Head of IS Strategy and since June 2009 has added Enterprise Architecture to his portfolio of responsibilities.
