Technical Sales

The Technical Sales Apprenticeship:

• gives Apprentices strong sales skills combined with some underpinning technical knowledge.

• develops Apprentices to take on Technical Sales roles within 6 months.

Certification

Your Apprentice will achieve skills in:

• Developing sales proposals and quotations

• Generating and follow up sales leads

• Selling products and services over the telephone

• Developing a sound understanding of key concepts and principles in sales in the IT Sector

This programme has been designed by e-skills UK to be specially relevant for sales in the IT Sector and is approved by the National Skills Academy for IT.

These skills are achieved by studying for the Advanced Apprenticeship for Sales and Telesales, which contains the Level 3 NVQ in Sales and the Level 3 Certificate in Sales awarded by City and Guilds.

Costs

• Wages –£ 100  per  week recommended – c.£5,000 per annum

• £750 management fee

• Travel and subsistence expenses for residential training – allow £4000

• Funding is 100% free for 16 -18 yr olds.
  • If 19+ an employer contribution will be required – £3,000

How is the learning delivered?

• For the first six months, one week in every month will be dedicated to sales techniques training.

• After training, the Apprentices return to the workplace to apply their sales skills, with tutor support and coaching from experienced professionals.

On the job coaching and assessment

• Apprentices will be supported and assessed in the workplace to prove their competence.

• Apprentices will receive remote tutor support to help them with technical subjects.

 How long will it last?

• On average, the programme will last 10 months, but varies depending on each Apprentice

• The objective is that, after achieving their apprenticeship qualifications, Apprentices stay in your business. We recommend that you review their pay and benefits in line with the market rate for their skills and their contribution to your business.
