Training varies across each apprenticeship scheme. However, for each scheme, the programme will last for an average of 10 months.
Learning delivery for Technical Support Apprentices
- The Apprentice will receive 15 weeks of classroom learning.
- The first 6 months are delivered as a rotation of 3 weeks in training, followed by 3 weeks in the workplace.
- The Apprentice will be in the workplace full-time after completion of first 6 months
- Network+ and Windows 7 exams take place in the 9th month.
- On the job assessment
- Apprentices are assessed and supported in the workplace to prove their competence
Learning delivery for .NET Developer Apprentices
- The Apprentice will receive 8 weeks of residential, instructor-led learning.
- The first 4 weeks of the apprenticeship is the “C# Programming boot camp”.
- The Apprentice then receives 3 further individual weeks of residential learning.
- The Apprentice will then take the extra developer course selected by the employer, including certification exam.
- Learning is delivered at a residential training centre in Reading.
- The Apprentice will be in the workplace full-time after boot camp.
- On the job coaching and assessment
- Apprentices are supported and assessed in the workplace to prove their competence.
- Apprentices will receive remote tutor support to help them with technical subjects.
Learning delivery for Technical Sales Apprentices
- For the first six months, one week in every month will be dedicated to sales techniques training.
- After training, the Apprentices return to the workplace to apply their sales skills, with tutor support and coaching from experienced professionals.
